Oh. [His eyes drop to the bag.] Ven... [Of course the boy would hand off cookies and try to make them share. There's absolutely nothing nefarious about cookies.] Sure.
You can come in. Unless you want me to come out. We can try them in the kitchen if you want. [Which sounds weird to take the time to go do, but:] There's... milk?
Alright. [He takes the bag of cookies gently--as not to bust them all up--and steps out, leaving the door open in case anyone else comes to see if he's around.
He leads not to be first, but as a natural desire shield, though he tries to mostly keep them side by side.] You mean you didn't want to have all the cookies to yourself? [It's not a jab, just something playful.]
You could have eaten them all, and I wouldn't have known.
Right. [The two of them can't disappoint Ven much less make him sad.] Ven... Of course he would make us cookies. [Close to the kitchen, he hangs up a bit to allow Aqua to go ahead--ladies first and all.]
Did he go somewhere? [With one free hand, he motions Aqua on and through.] He didn't want to have some with us?
Oh. [So Ven didn't make the cookies, but Ven thought about the two of them enough to pass some along. It's almost the same thing pretty much. It doesn't even strike him as odd for Ven to want Aqua to share some with him and not, like, all three of them together.
He's dumb.] Alright. Here. [He hands the bag of cookies back to Aqua when they're in the kitchen.] You can take some out, and I'll get us something to drink.
[After a minute, he brings over two cups of milk for them.] I hope these won't be as strange as the cookies from the carnival. [He'd been green for most of the day. Yikes.
Nothing could be amiss with Ven and Snow's sister, though, surely. So he lifts one and takes the plunge first by biting off a piece.]
Don't worry. I'm sure she didn't put anything strange in them. [ She says with a small smile. Plus, she also has the utmost faith in Ventus. She'll reach for one after Terra does, taking a bite of her own. ]
You're right. I can see why Ven was excited to give us some.
[Man... Ven is so lucky they trust him unconditionally.]
I guess he just wanted... [It doesn't exactly happen immediately. It isn't like a switch being flipped on. It's more... like a heater, like a fire, slowly warming up. He's never exactly felt anything like this before, or, if he has, he's been too stupid to pay attention to it.
In the pit of his chest, affectionate heat spreads, and his face grows a little warm. Weird. He just, like... eats another piece of the cookie for lack of understanding. Aqua suddenly seems... pretty? No, he notices she's pretty for once.] Uh...
[ She takes a bite of another cookie, and pauses - looking to Terra. Somehow... she sort of feels like she's seeing him for the first time all over again; only this time, her heart is beating rapidly in her chest, stomach doing flips. But... why? She's never felt this way before...
At least... not that she remembered. ]
... It's okay. [ She says softly, eyes drifting away. ] I... think he may have wanted for us to spend more time together.
[Wow, he feels incredibly stupid. "I forgot what I planned to say"? Really? There's more color climbing into his cheeks from it, a soft mahogany on his tanned skin.]
That sounds like Ven. Aqua...
[Nevermind. He pushes the entire rest of the cookie in his mouth to stop himself from saying anything else stupid. Unfortunately, it gives him time to think, but all he can really think about is... how much he cares about Aqua? Ven, too, but... strangely... Aqua... in another way.
When he finds he can't swallow nervously against the cookie, he drinks some of the milk, only to end up with part of it on his top lip without really knowing.]
It's funny - seconds tick by, and with each passing moment, those butterflies are only effecting her all the more. She can't remember ever feeling like this, really. She always felt comfortable - content being with Terra, but... not like this. Maybe she did, and now she's only just realizing it.
He's always been one of her closest friends, but this feeling is different than the one she feels around Ven, or anyone else that she's met. Or... is it similar to Terra, where she just didn't realize it before...?
She watches him for a moment before laughing a little. ]
... I'm glad. Even back at home, it felt like we weren't able to spend that much time together. [ What, with their training and all. ]
[Yeah, even one simple cookie turned out to be a doozie.] I know... [Idly reaching up, he brushes the back of his hand over his mouth and clears his throat.
It seems as if he's trying his hardest to look away so he's not staring, but his eyes keep drifting back to her.] I'm glad... [He pauses a second, trying to figure out what he wants to say.] I'm glad you and Ven are here. I'm glad... we can see each other again.
[Slowly, he extends his hand between them, palm up, offering it to her if she will take it.] We can... spend more time together now. If you want. I'd... like to... with you. Without having to worry about training.
[ Terra offers his hand, and she offers a small smile before taking it. It's a little funny: his hand fits what seems to be perfectly to her. Much like Terra, her eyes drift back to the cookies, but then back to him, but she can't help but wonder if she's acting strangely to him. ]
I'd like that. [ She looks back to him, eyes meeting his his. ] ... It could just be the two of us - sometimes - if you wanted that.
[Taking her hand, he casually turns his and gently links their fingers together without even thinking about doing it. The smile he gives is genuine, but one of the rarer ones he’s prone to having.] I’d... want that. Aqua... [All over, he feels hot. Love is... a kind of humid heat; the room is suddenly almost like a jungle. Warm and heavy with precipitation, clinging to the skin. Love is the soft and distant rumble of the floor, the sound in time with the rapid beating of Terra’s heart.
He hadn’t ever paid attention to the right parts of Aqua’s strength. She was pretty, as girls are, but he never stopped to consider her beautiful, and it’s almost like seeing her as they were as children, friends, turning a full circle and then seeing her as a woman. Something completely new. Something he didn’t consider when he was focused on mastery and the fact Ven made them three rather than two.
There’s a strange amount of respectful affection in his eyes, but he isn’t smiling. It’s serious, so he’s serious.] Would you... mind... if I... kissed you, Aqua?
[ A kiss? Her breath stutters at the thought of it, and for a moment, and time seems to move slowly. Terra is being so forward - but, she doesn't mind it. Everything about this moment between them feels perfect.
She squeezes that hand, gaze softening. She's never been kissed before, but she can't help but feel as though there's no one else she'd rather have her first kiss than with Terra. ]
[At first, he hesitates, as if he hadn't expected Aqua to agree. He's... glad she did. Glad he somehow got the nerve to even ask.
Lightly, he squeezes her hand, reaches up with his other to brush some of the hair from her face before cupping it. If he was less love-cookie-induced, he would worry about not knowing how exactly, worry about being awkward. For now, he strangely knows. There's not too terribly much to it:
Leaning in and lidding his eyes the closer he gets until he doesn't have to be concerned about missing. He kisses her to the sensation of electricity in his blood and a fire in his chest. The first is chaste, a peck, to the sound of light, sharp pops in the air. The second and the third are appropriately kisses without overstaying any welcome. Enough for it to happen and be meaningful without last until they're breathless.
Even though he's still quite breathless when he finally leans back.]
[ The seconds that pass between them seem to stretch all the more when he leans in; and despite nervousness, she feels it begin to fade when she herself does the same, tilting her head just enough for them to kiss properly. Despite not having done this before, it's... almost as though she already knows what to do.
He kisses her once - twice - three times, and her first thought is that Terra's lips are warm - rough, yet there's a gentleness to those kisses all the same. Her heart swells at each kiss, longing for more when he parts. ... Not, it's not just the kiss, is it? She... just wants him to be close.
She's never thought about being with anyone like this before. What's gotten into her? Is it because it's Terra? They've known each other all their lives. Maybe living in Verens together and being able to do so in peace has helped her to give thought to other things - despite what's waiting for them at home.
Whatever the reason is, it's a fleeting thought (thanks to the love potion, that is).
She's just as restless as he is, resting her forehead against his. It's only seconds before she speaks again. ]
... Terra, what does this mean? [ All of this happened so suddenly, but... she doesn't mind at all. ]
[Honestly, he finds he has no decisive, clear answer for Aqua's question. He feels terrible not being able to say something with certainty, yet... he's really not sure what this means or where this leaves the two of them.
Between them, he tucks their hands close and squeezes hers again gently. Maybe reassuringly--more for himself than for her.]
I'm... not sure. I'm okay with... whatever you want it to mean. [His eyes close, then open, then glance to the side. She can likely feel the heat from his cheeks.] I didn't mean... to make it complicated. Us.
